F4 Final Conference
The fourth and final Future of Russian conference — a workshop, with invited guests, on the capstone scholarly contribution of our four-year project, a collective monograph.
How does new technology shape and transform the ways we communicate, interact, and create? How do new media influence linguistic and literary cultures? Compared to global trends in the new media, what are the specific features of linguistic and literary cultures in the RuNet? Within the Future of Russian project, we have explored these and related questions from different angles and disciplines, one of the main concerns being to integrate RuNet research into international CMC studies, and vice versa. In the proposed book, we will sum up our core findings and present a collective, cutting-edge contribution to RuNet scholarship.

Departure/excursion
We plan to go by bus into the city centre, take the funicular to Fløien (320 m) and walk from there. Our main goal is Blåmanen (554 m.), but there is also the possibility of establishing a base camp at Brushytten (1,8 km from the funicular) underway. We take a packed lunch with us from Solstrand. Children & families are very welcome to join!
There will be a plan B in case of bad weather conditions.
Practical information
Check-in and registration is on Thursday 7 June from 3 pm and we start with a late afternoon session at 4:30 pm. Friday 8 June and Saturday 9 June are full conference days. For Sunday 10 June we plan to celebrate the conclusion of the Future project with a half-day "walkshop" in the surrounding Bergen mountains (with an alternative plan B in the case of awful weather conditions). Depending on your destination, departure is possible on Sunday evening, or Monday 11 (recommended). The project covers the last overnight stay (10-11) in a central Bergen hotel for those who wish to take part in the Sunday excursion and depart on Monday 11 June.
