Reforming the welfare state
The project Reforming the welfare state: Accountability, democracy and management will run from 2011 and throughout 2014, and is located at the Uni Rokkan Centre in Bergen. The project is financed by the Norwegian Research Council through the VAM programme, and it is headed by Professor Per Lægreid.
COCOPS
The COCOPS project (Coordinating for Cohesion in the Public Sector of the Future) seeks to comparatively and quantitatively assess the impact of New Public Management-style reforms in European countries, drawing on a team of European public administration scholars from 11 universities in 10 countries.
The Research Group
One of the aims of this research group is to study management policies, administrative reforms and institutional change in a multi-level perspective. Many of the major challenges both theoretically and in practice when it comes to the formation and manner of operation of the political-administrative system now lies in the interface between administrational levels, from the local through the regional to the national and supranational level, in the interface between the public sector, civil society and private sector, and in the interface between elected and administrative bodies.
