PhD candidate Hege Høivik Bye

Hege Høivik Bye is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Psychology. She earned her BA in social science and her MSc in psychology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, specializing in social and community psychology.

Projects

As a member of the “Recruitment in a multicultural society” research group, her work will focus on cross-cultural differences in self-presentation during job interviews and the evaluation of job applicants by Norwegian managers.
She will be working on the following research projects:

•    A cross-cultural study of the implications of values for self–presentation in employment interviews.
•    A comparison of American and Norwegian managers’ preferences for applicant self-presentation
•    An experimental study of applicant self-presentation and the judgements of job applicants by Norwegian managers.
