The aim of the group is to promote studies and research within social philosophy and political theory, understood jointly as a field of study for a course (social theory, political philosophy etc.), as a perspective (in which philosophy is studied with regard to its social and political aspects) and as an activity (philosophical dialogue with other sections of the community).

The group is headed by Professor Paola Maria de Cuzzani, paola.de.cuzzani@fof.uib.no.

Project: Interculturalism and Diversities

Interculturalism and Diversities: Developing intercultural models and thinking in the Nordic countries (IDIN) FoF is the coordinator of IDIN, a Nordic research network in intercultural thinking in the Nordic context. The network has been established with financial support from NordForsk in 3 years, 2011-2013.

IDIN aims to promote Nordic research collaboration and training in the area of intercultural thinking. IDINs principal objective is to analyse intercultural strategies in the Nordic context and by a comparative study to investigate the possibilities for developing a new model and significance concerning interculturalism in the Nordic context.

Our aim is to bring together ongoing research in the field in order to plan interdisciplinary and trans-national collaboration among research institutions and researchers in three Nordic centers of research (Norway, Sweden, and Denmark) as well as European centers of research and to strengthen a Nordic joint research training.
