Tvertek Research Lab
Professor Emerita Barbara Gentikow and Associate Professor Lars Nyre initiated the TVERTEK Research LAb in 2006. The explicit aim of the group was to establish an experimental research environment at the Department. This ambition was inspired by the work conducted by Gentikow and Nyre under the Norwegian Research Council's programme for Culture, ICTs and the Media, which ran from 2003 to 2006.
The TVERTEK Lab runs and operates a Laboratory at the Department. The Lab was launched in January 2011 and facilitates experimental research both within media studies and within the information sciences, and in the intersection between the two fields.
Among projects belonging to the group is PhD candidate Tor Gjøsæter's "Augmented Reality" project.
The TVERTEK Lab was inspired by a workshop at Microsoft Cambridge Lab, and London Knowledge Lab, Work-based Learning – Centre of Excellence og Centre for HCI Design (City University) in 2007.
