BSRS 2013 Academic information

Academic level

The Bergen Summer Research School is targeted for PhD students and junior faculty, and offers the opportunity to work together with internationally renowned scholars.

A good command of the English language is required.

Credits and requirements

Participation at the courses will give credits under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

Students can take only one of the five parallel courses. Full participation in the course-specific modules, reading of the provided literature prior to the summer school, and participation in all plenary events and roundtables is required. Students are also expected to write an essay at the end of the course, which will give a total of 10 ECTS.

It is also possible to participate without producing an essay. This will give 3 ECTS.

Library services

There will be library sessions dedicated to "Information Management for Knowledge Creation". Students will also gain access to the electronic resources at the University of Bergen Library, for a period after the end of BSRS 2013.
