Global Development Challenges
The Bergen Summer Research School (BSRS) is committed to produce and disseminate research-based education to address key global challenges. Climate and environmental changes, health challenges, new diseases, pervasive poverty, and marginalization of certain groups and regions, call for interdisciplinary spaces for debate, dialogue and joint learning.

Goals
- To offer high quality disciplinary, interdisciplinary and problem oriented research-based education to doctoral students and junior researchers from all over the world.
- To form an international platform for discussion and dissemination of new perspectives on key global challenges.
The BSRS 2013 will be organized in five parallell courses, which will be bound together by joint lectures by high-profile keynote speakers, plenary discussions, and activities that promote societal involment. In addition to the doctoral courses, a set of plenary sessions and public meetings will reach out to the wider community in the overall perspective of global challenges.
