The Translational Cancer Research School was established in June 2005 and placed under the Department of Biomedicine, University of Bergen. This research school was established for doctoral candidates in the field cancer research.
The research school has the following main objectives:
- To strengthen the research program in translational cancer research.
- To enhance the scientific cooperation between research groups within the basal, para-clinical and clinical cancer research.
- To provide new insights into the mechanisms that drive tumor progression.
- To identify and validate known targets for therapy.
The Head of the Translational Cancer Research School is professor Rolf Bjerkvig at the Department of Biomedicine, in cooperation with a committee composed of representatives from clinical and basic cancer research.
