"Due to the situation in the air traffic, the weather forecast regarding wind directions the coming days as well as the available information on the expected behavior of the volcanic activity of Eyjafjallajoekull, as well as taking into account that other similar events are being cancelled due to the situation, the Directorate for Education and Training, in agreement with the Municipality of Bergen, has decided to cancel the conference Partnership and participation for a sustainable tomorrow: Continuing the UN Decade of ESD.
This decision was not easy to make, but after gathering information from all relevant sources available to us, it would seem almost irresponsible not to cancel.
We understand this is a big disappointment, but we assure you that none are as disappointed as we are, who have planned for and looked forward to this event for months. Although volcanic eruptions aren’t caused by human activity, it is still quite a reminder of the powers of nature and certainly brings on a feeling of humbleness.

19.-23. april 2010 arrangerer Utdanningsdirektoratet en internasjonal konferanse om utdanning for bærekraftig utvikling. Konferansen er knyttet til EU- prosjektet ”Partnership and Participation for a Sustainable Tomorrow” - SUPPORT.
Tirsdag 20. april er programmet spesielt tilrettelagt for å invitere norske lærere til å delta. Internasjonalt kjente fagpersoner vil gi foredrag om dagsaktuelle tema knyttet til utvikling av opplæringen for hele grunnskoleområdet samt lærerutdanning. Det er mulig å melde seg på som deltaker til kun denne dagen via skolelab.no.
De som deltar kun 20. april betaler dagspakken, dvs. kostander til lunsj og kaffepauser kr. 495. Dette blir fakturert fra Utdanningsdirektoratet i etterkant.
