Admission


Section for Academic Administration is responsible for admission to regular undergraduate study programmes and admission of international students at the University of Bergen.

The section also provides counselling and evaluation of foreign education.

International applicants and student mobility

The University of Bergen aim to promote student mobility. Section for Academic Administration have the administrative responsibility for admission of international applicants to the Quota scheme, Self-financed master and to our exchange programmes

Admission to undergraduate studies

Section for Academic Administration handle admissions to undergraduate studies at the University of Bergen.

Evaluation of education

Section for Academic Administration can evaluate education in relation to the minimum entrance requirements for Higher Education Entrance Qualification in Norway (generell studiekompetanse). We can also evaluate if you are qualified for admission to specific studyprogrammes based on prior learning and work experience.

If you intend to apply for studies at the University of Bergen, but are unsure if you meet the minimum entrance requirements, you can ask us to evaluate your educational and professional background. Please note that the language requirements in english and norwegian are absolute. You can find information about how to meet these requirements here.

To get approval of higher education from abroad you need to contact the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (NOKUT). They can evaluate your papers and tell you how your education compares to Norwegian higher education.

Continuing and further education

Centre for Continuing Education (SEVU) deal with admission to extension studies, continuing education, professional development, adult education, open and distance education and part time studies.
