Section for Internationalisation of Education
The section for Internationalisation of Education is a central study administration unit for the Division of Student Affairs.
The Section is a centre of competence in the internationalisation of academic studies and provides support and advice for the various academic environments and other units at the University of Bergen.
The section works on the university’s strategy for internationalisation of education at UiB.
Together with the university’s faculties, the section is responsible for the recruitment of international students to study programmes and courses at the University of Bergen.
The section administers the different programmes for the internationalisation of higher education in which the University of Bergen participates. This includes the Quota Programme, the Erasmus Programme, the Erasmus Mundu, the Nordplus and Nordlys networks, the HEC programme and the NOMA programme The UiB’s institutional contacts for the above programmes can be found in the Section for Internationalisation of Studies.
Together with the academic environment, the section is responsible for ensuring that UiB’s emergency response plan for students abroad is followed up.
The section is responsible for the administration of the university’s portfolio of bilateral student exchange agreements. It assists the academic environments and others with the renewal and setting up of agreements.
The section facilitates international student mobility between the University in Bergen and higher education institutions abroad.
The section has coordinating responsibility for students who want to participate in exchange programmes under the university’s bilateral agreements, Erasmus agreements or through the Nordlys network.
The UiB offers a number of joint degree programmes, and the section has considerable competence in the field. The section coordinates parts of the joint degree programmes at the UiB, and offers support and advice in connection with the establishment of joint degrees and joint study programmes.

Coordinating the exchange of students going abroad to study
The Section for Internationalisation of Studies is responsible for processing applications from students who wish to participate in an exchange programme under the university’s general bilateral agreements, through the Nordlys network or under the Erasmus agreements.

The Division of Student Affairs and the Faculties of the University of Bergen have a shared responsibility for the recruitment of students.
