The Library - Your Source of Information
The main purpose of the University Library is to collect and make available information for research, education, teaching and dissemination at the University of Bergen. Library services are also open to the general public with a study or research objective.

Special Collections
Our Special Collections - a Treasure
The library contains unique collections of valuable materials, a.o. historical photographs from all over Norway, with a special emphasis on Bergen and Western Norway. We also have hand-written manuscripts dating back to the 13th century, as well as antiquarian books, maps and newspapers.

New service - Chat with a Librarian
From Monday 2. May the library offer reference assistance using instant messaging. The service is in a "beta phase" until the end of the semester, 15. June.
