Reference Management

The University of Bergen Library gives all students and staff at the University of Bergen access to the reference management tools EndNote, EndNote Web and ReferenceManager, as well as the programme RefViz both on and off campus. The programmes are also available to a number of external partners.

The University IT department distributes the programmes and runs a web page for downloading of software.

The University Library is responsible for user support and technical support for these programmes.

EndNote

is a good tool which offers many useful functions. At the same time it is user friendly and easy to get started with.

EndNote Web

The good thing about this programme is that it is web based, and therefore does not have to be installeed or updated on your own PC. You must have access to the Internet in order to use it. [More information about EndNote Web will come later.]

ReferenceManager

This reference tool offers the most advanced functionality and technical specialities of the programmes available.

RefViz

This programme can be used either in combination with those mentioned above, or separately. The main feature of this programme is that it can visualise how your references are distributed according to various criteria. [More information about RefViz will come later.]
