of teenage slang, which will be carried out in the Nordic countries.

The pilot study in Norway was carried out in February 1997 by Anna-Brita
Stenström and Kristine
Hasund. The questionnaires were handed out in

Bergen: one class in their 11th school year (20 pupils aged 17-19)
-
Kristiansand: one class in their 11th school year (26 pupils aged 17-19)
and one class in their 9th school year (22 pupils aged 14-16)
The main slang study
The main slang study in Norway was carried out in Oslo, Bergen and Tromsø
during 1997 and spring 1998. In each town, 4 schools were invited to participate.
The following schools have participated in the project:

Grefsen ungdomsskole: one 9th year class, 23 questionnaires

Oslo Katedralskole: one 11th year class, 12 questionnaires + two 10th year
classes, 45 questionnaires

Foss vg. skole: four 11th year classes, 83 questionnaires (entered in a
database)

Tromstuen ungdomsskole: two 9th year classes, 51 questionnaires

Kongsbakken vg. skole: one 11th year class, 21 questionnaires (entered

Tromsdalen vg skole: three 10th year classes, 78 questionnaires

Marikollen skole: two 10th year classes, 55 questionnaires
