Nordic Centre, Fudan University (Shanghai, China)
“Chinese Politics in a Globalized World” will be offered in the spring semester 2013 to BA and MA level students from Nordic universities and Fudan University.
The course is a full-semester course which will give students an understanding of China as an emerging, major economic and political player in the world, and an understanding of the history of Chinese civilization, of contemporary China and its political, economic and social institutions, as well as basic understanding of Chinese culture and language. The students will be given a unique opportunity to learn about Chinese politics, culture, and society and about China’s role in the world and of how the world relates to China in the age of globalization
The course takes place at Fudan University/Nordic Centre in Shanghai and is taught by experienced Nordic and Chinese scholars. Local excursions and visits to the country side and the capital, Beijing, are included in the program and are covered by the tuition fee.
The course is jointly organized by the Nordic Centre and the School of International Relations and Public Affairs, Fudan University; Department of Comparative Politics, University of Bergen; Department of Political Science and NIAS (Nordic Institute of Asian Studies), University of Copenhagen.

Tuition fee for Nordic students: 2700 euro (UiB applicants may receive funding from Lånekassen to cover this expense).
