CCBIO seminar: Kenneth Hugdahl
Excellence in science: Experience with ERC grants
Department of Biological and Medical Psychology, University of Bergen; Division of Psychiatry and Department of Radiology, Haukeland University Hospital, Bergen
In my talk I will present a few reflections on today's funding system, and the difference between bottom-up and top-down funding, and what makes some applications successful, and some not. I will also give some thoughts on the distinction between "science" and "research" if there is any, and how the funding system may bias towards one rather than the other. I will end the talk by some general reflections on the role of the individual versus the collective in successful projects.
