The mission of EIC pathfinder is to build a bridge from new knowledge to new technologies.
The EIC pathfinder replaces FET actions in Horizon Europe.
Projects are expected to initiate radically new lines of technology through unexplored collaborations between advanced multidisciplinary science and cutting-edge engineering. The European Innovation Councils (EIC) complementary lines of action address different methodologies and scales, from new ideas to long-term challenges:
- EIC pathfinder open funds projects to explore new ideas for radically new future technologies. The ideas should be the first step towards a radically new long-term vision. This can involve a wide range of new technological possibilities, inspired by cutting-edge science, unconventional collaborations or new research and innovation practices.
The 2021 deadline has passed, but more deadlines will be announced for the coming years.
- EIC pathfinder Challenge looks for projects within certain areas. See description of areas on the website
- EIC transition seeks to develop innovations further. Applications must build on results from eligible Pathfinder, FET or ERC Proof of Concept projects
- EIC accelerator supports single Start-ups and SMEs (including spin-outs), individuals (intending to launch a start-up/ SME) and in exceptional cases small mid-caps (fewer than 500 employees) by blended financing.
Please contact the Local Contact Point, Research Advisors at your Faculty or Department or RCNs National Contact Points for information on calls for proposals, work programmes, relevant publications and policy documents and EU funded EIC projects.
