Hovedinnhold

What is the role of higher education in sustainability and climate and energy transformation? In this seminar, we will share practical examples of how university courses on sustainability issues have been designed to increase student participation. We would like to connect three topics which we relate to transformation: active student participation, unlearning, and the pedagogical potential of crisis. In connecting these topics, we invite you to consider what the implications are for how we design and practice higher education.

Susanna Barrineau is project coordinator at the Swedish International Centre for Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD) and coordinator for Climate Change Leadership at Uppsala University. Alexis Engström works with active student participation at the Division for Quality Enhancement and coordinates courses on sustainable development at Uppsala University. Both have worked with student-led higher education for sustainable development at CEMUS, Uppsala University. They are coauthors of the Active Student Participation Companion, that will be published 2018.

The session is organized together with the UiB Collaboratory.

The seminar is open for everyone!

Lunch will be served, so please let us know if you are coming by sending an e-mail to judith.dalsgard@uib.no
