United Nations training session on transformative partnerships
The United Nations organized a training session on "Leveraging innovative partnerships with higher education institutions towards sustainable and resilient societies" in July 2018. Researchers from Harvard University, University of Oxford, University of Bergen, University of Sao Paolo and Inland Norway University contributed to the session, which was convened by UN DESA and the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative. The UiB Collaboratory's Jakob Grandin contributed to the session with a presentation on how transformative partnerships between researchers, students and society can accelerate the sustainability transformation. The Helsinki principles for sustainability in higher education
The Helsinki principles were developed by researchers, educators and students at University of Helsinki, University of Iceland, Uppsala University and Iceland Academy for the Arts. They highlight opportunities for innovation in pedagogy, student participation, vision and values as well as governance and support. A special issue of LUMAT-B outlines experiences in developing student-faculty partnerships and student-led education at the universities below, read more here:

The Tvergastein journal was founded and is run by students at the University of Oslo. Read more here:
CEMUS at Uppsala University
The Centre for Environment and Development Studies (CEMUS) at Uppsala University has organized interdisciplinary and student-led university courses at Master's and Bachelor's level on different themes relating to sustainable development for more than 25 years. The educational model is based on a student-faculty partnership, where students plan and facilitate credit giving university courses together with an academic work group consisting of researchers from different disciplines. The centre also has a research program on Climate Change Leadership and an interdisciplinary research forum. More here:

Sustainability Action Programme at University of Southampton
The Sustainability Action Programme at University of Southampton brings researchers, students and administrators together to work on sustainability issues. Among their activities is the annual International Student Sustainability Research Symposium and the student run journal Meliora: International Journal of Student Sustainability Research. More here:
