Mål og innhald

This is one of four medium and method based modules that students must choose from.

This module provides an introduction to basic knowledge of sculpture and installation, as well as the development of practice in relation to sculpture and installation.

In the field of sculpture and installation, you can work with a number of different techniques, methods and materials. The course provides an introduction to the field, through historical references, contemporary practices and different techniques. Practical assignments are the main component of the course.

Dette er ett av fire metode/medium-emer som studenter kan velje mellom.

Emnet gir en innføring i grunnleggande kjennskap til skulptur og installasjon, samt utvikling av praksis i relasjon til skulptur og installasjon.

I skulptur- og installasjonsfeltet kan man arbeide med en rekke ulike teknikkar, metodar og materialar. Emnet gir en introduksjon til feltet, gjennom historiske referansar, samtidige praksisar og forskjellege teknikkar. Praktiske oppgåver er hovudkomponenten i emnet.

  • Specialized knowledge of key principles and theories of practices, in Sculpture and Installation.
  • Knowledge of the history and traditions of the field of sculpture and how this relates to the student¿s artistic practice.
  • A high level of contextual awareness of contemporary professional and research developments in the field.

  • In-depth understanding of a range of practical approaches and tools relevant to Master¿s project.
  • In-depth awareness of sources of information, and how to employ these in updating personal knowledge and understanding.

  • Tacit skills in handling tools, materials and techniques with a high level of competence and awareness.
  • Cognitive skills in reflection and application of knowledge through practice and in direct relevance to Master¿s project.
  • Can identify and apply connections between subject matter and related cultural contexts.

Master`s students in Fine Art can apply for admission to this module, but bachelor's students are prioritized.
