Annen informasjon

Utfyllande semesteromtale

This course facilitates working in large format, examining size itself as a tool, and encouraging participants to explore both individual and collective working methods within the shared environment of the print workshop.

Practical instruction in screen-printing on textile and paper is complemented by contextual discussion to create critical awareness around the ways in which process, scale, site and action correspond.

Participants learn about the surface treatment of fabric through the use of different dyes, thickeners, application methods and fixing processes. Screen-printing for both textile and paper will be introduced first using simple means, such as stencil printing and monotype, and later through the exposure of images onto photo-sensitive emulsion on the surface of a screen; the course explores the different possibilities offered by hand-cut, digitally printed and laser cut stencils. HMS is included to facilitate independent and creative practice in professional textile and print workshops.

Subject responsible: Ingrid Aarset.
