Mål og innhald

Dette er en prosjektbasert modul med fokus på formbarhet i forhold til spørsmål om transformasjon, skala og kontekst.

Studentene utvikler et individuelt eller gruppeprosjekt innenfor modulen og introduseres til relevante teknikker og tilnærminger gjennom forelesninger, lesninger, presentasjoner, veiledninger og/eller workshops.

Utfyllande semesteromtale

This is a project-based module with a focus on sculptural ceramics. We will explore the malleability and sculptural potential in clay and ceramics and see this in relation to questions of transformation, scale, and context.

In the module we will delve into the formal limitations and possibilities related to texture, form, scale, proportions and 3-dimensionality and explore how clay can be combined with other materials.

During the course we will work together in the same space with our own or collaborative project. We will share and deal with problems and questions as they arise during the process. The module will include group and individual tutorials, discussions, readings and presentations and we will look at a wide range of related artists and practices.

The course culminates in a presentation of the work developed.

To get the most from this week, it is recommended that you have some thoughts around what you would like to do/make or how clay or ceramics can fit into your work/practice.
