Why did you choose the Master's Programme in Public administration at UiB?
Because it is the field I am interested in, and before I started my studies I had been working in Government Services for the Government of Nepal for 12 years. Public Administration was very suitable for my career development.
What did you write your thesis about?
My thesis was about a case study of NGO's performance effectiveness
Was your topic relevant for the job you have now?
Yes, the topic was relevant for the job I have now, and my previous job. My profession is government service. The topic is relevant to policy issues relating to NGOs administration and so on.
Did you have relevant work experience, or did you participate in student organizations?
Yes, since I had been working in Government Service in Nepal - I had highly relevant work experience.
Why should new prospective students choose our master's programme?
They should choose it because it is very constructive course for research and policy studies.
What is the best thing about your job, and what is the most challenging?
The best thing about my job now, is to work on investigation on corruption matters. To find the policy corruption is the most challenging.
What was your first job after graduation?
I was on leave from my job to study. So when I had completed my degree I went back to my job. I have now been promoted to an Under Secretary post and I am now working in CIAA Nepal.
Do you have any tips for new students who are thinking about job opportunities?
It is better to choose a research topic with a future career plan in mind. Choose something that is relevant as well as they are within your areas of interest.
