Why did you choose the Master’s Programme in Public Administration?

My academic background is from Public Administration. I was working part-time at the Faculty where I now work full-time, and I was looking for an opportunity to study Public Administration on a higher level, which I found at UiB.

What did you write your thesis about?

Implementation of Citizen’s Charter and Improving Municipal Services in Nepal: Myth or Reality

Was your topic relevant for the job you have now?

The topic is not directly relevant to my current job, but what I learned from working with my thesis is very useful for doing further research and teaching/guiding students in my current job.

Why should new prospective students choose our master’s programme?

UiB is a world ranked University. The Master’s Programme in Public Administration gives students the opportunity of a research based study, which will give graduates a helpful start on their career. So, I recommend new prospective students to choose this Master’s Programme.

What is your job?

I am Lecturer in Public Administration Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

What is the best thing about your job and what is most challenging?

I enjoy teaching. This job gives me the opportunity to face different kind of problems raised by students and I get the chance to learn new things every day. This is good as well as challenging.

What was your first job after graduation? How did you transition from studies to work?

This is my first job after graduation. Before taking UiB Master’s Program, I was working part-time at the same Faculty; now I am working here with a permanent post as Lecturer.

Do you have any tips for new students who are thinking about job opportunities after graduation?

The thesis is very important. So, I would like to advice new students to be careful when they choose the topic for their thesis. They should either choose a topic according to their interest or based on work experience, or they should choose a topic within a field in which they will have an opportunity to start a career in their country.
