Why did you choose the master program in public administration to further your studies?

To develop my competence for my career in a not too distant future, I was inspired to acquire further knowledge in Public Administration, having obtained fore knowledge in the field at the undergraduate level.

How has the transition from bachelor to master level studies been?

It has been a tremendous advancement in my expertise in research and analytical skills.

How have you developed academically while attending the master program in public administration?

The nature of the programme has challenged me to explore further in the field, and has given me an exposure to understanding public policy and administration in a broader context.

What are you writing your master’s thesis about? Why did you choose this topic?

“The role of teachers in access to education for persons with disability. A case study of the implementation of the Persons with Disability Act of Ghana.”

The study brings to light, an aspect of the implementation of the Persons with Disability Act that has been given less recognition since the Act was passed in 2006. This research thus anchors on the Theory of Street-Level Bureaucracy, to explore the factors that influence the role of the teachers as street-level bureaucrats, across four basic, secondary and tertiary educational institutions in Ghana.

What is your best memory from studying at the master’s program so far?

The periodic seminars that drew forth intelligent perspectives of discussions in the MPA class.

What are your plans for when you complete the degree?

Pursue my career, and put to use the knowledge I have acquired, in a bid to contribute to the development of my country.

Why should new applicants choose the master program in public administration?

The MPA programme gives an exposure to advanced and expertise knowledge in research methodology, and broader perspectives in public policy, administration and organizational studies.
