The Pacific Islands as the frontline of climate change
Will we see you in Arendal? The University of Bergen invites to a public lecture with Palau’s United Nations ambassador Ngedikes Olai Uludong.
The island nation of Palau in the western Pacific has long had a prominent role in global political negotiations concerning the ocean and climate change.
Notwithstanding her young age, Palau’s ambassador to the United Nations, Ms Ngedikes Olai Uludong, has represented her nation and the Pacific Islands region at large, over many years of climate change negotiations across the world whenever the future of small island states are at stake.
In this public lecture, Ambassador Uludong will give insights into her experiences as a high-profile climate warrior on the global stage. As her colleagues among Pacific state leaders and diplomats express it: “If we save the island states, we save the world”.
