Meet the speaker:

Dr. Angela Gronenborn heads the Department of Structural Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and holds the UPMC Rosalind Franklin Chair. Throughout her career, she was involved in developing NMR methodology for structure determination of biological macromolecules. In recent years, her focus was on extending the application of NMR to the study of complex systems. Dr. Gronenborn is a member of the Washington and New York Academies of Sciences and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences, the Norwegian Academy of Arts and Letters, the German National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) and the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.

About the event

Meet-the-speaker is an event series organized by the Bergen Biomedical Research School. We want to motivate our Ph.D.-candidates to interact with inspiring scientists who conduct top-quality research in the field of biomedicine. The purpose is not only to talk about science, but also about career choices, work-life balance, and anything that comes to mind.

After the BBB seminar, the speaker will be available to talk and discuss with early stage researchers in an informal setting in the conference room near the lecture hall. Interested master students and research track medical students can also join.
