Main content

UiB has Climate and Energy transition as one of three strategic areas. UiB has long and strong traditions within meteorology and Norway has excellent offshore wind resources and a world leading maritime industry. Together, these factors make offshore wind energy a very natural focus area of UiB. Bergen Offshore Wind Center (BOW) was established in 2018. The center will build upon and mobilize existing competence at UiB to strengthen both research and education within offshore wind. Here disciplines from meteorology, via informatics to law and social sciences are all of relevance.

In the presentation, the global status of offshore wind will be presented as well as challenges and opportunities for Norway. Further, the focus areas of BOW will be discussed.

Open for anyone interested! Please share in your networks to people interested in this week’s topic.

Lunch will be served, so please let us know if you are coming by Monday 25th, 12pm: Judith.dalsgard@uib.no
