The government is closing all universities and colleges:

UiB buildings closed

On March the 12th the government introduced strict measures to prevent coronainfection. As a result, UiB has closed all buildings for students and staff.

The UiB-administration has been monitoring the situation closely and has since February the 27th had the emergency response management teams in place. Thursday the 12th of March the decision was made to close down all UiB buildings.

The Norwegian Directorate of Health has issued a decision to close schools and other educational institutions.

Concequently, UiB campus is currently closed for staff and students. Critical functions and operations will be maintained, and key personell are granted access to the buildings. This may includes staff within the fields of health, security, laboratories and emergency.

If you should need regular access (key card) to the premises to maintain critical functions, please apply to the HR department: sonja.dyrkorn@uib.no

If you should need a single access to pick up books or other belongings, please contact your local Head of Department/Division.
