The number of new cases of Covid-19 have continued to rise this Autumn. This is the reason why the authorities have provided new recommendations, which will apply to everyone in Norway. The government wants everybody to contribute in reducing the spread of the virus by meeting fewer people and traveling less.

Also in Bergen, infection rates are increasing. During the last week 448 new people have tested positive for Covid-19. This is the reason why Bergen municipality is announcing stricter, local infection control measures.

Mandatory home office:
•    In line with the regulations, it will from Monday November 9. be mandatory to use home office for everyone who can.

Digital teaching:
•    Lectures for students will be provided digitally from Monday November 9.

Once the regulations have been presented, the university administration will revert with possible exceptions to the rules.

More information will follow:

Further information of possible exceptions from digital teaching, the possibility of carrying out critical research tasks on campus and exceptions from mandatory home offices for employees and students will follow. We will also revert with information regarding the length of the measures.

Bergen municipality also warns that stricter rules for events, libraries and museums will be presented tomorrow. We will also return with any further consequences of these measures when the regulations are available.
