This means that from 4 January, students will have access to all the university's areas using their key cards and no longer need to register to gain access to campus. Leaders must also facilitate that important tasks and functions on campus related to the students are taken care of.

If the infection situation does not change in a negative direction in the coming weeks, more employees can return to campys from Mid-January to take care of important task that requires physical presence. The use of home office will still be a relevant tool to reduce the number of people using public transportation.

At the end of the year, the university leadership can state that UiB has had very good control of the infection situation on campus and that no outbreaks of infection have been registered on campus since March. The university rectorate and leaders would like to thank all students and staff who have followed the university's advice and guidelines and made an extraordinary effort to deal with the consequences of the pandemic.
