January marks the opening of the spring semester. At UiB, the campus will be open from 3 January.

- We are happy to welcome you back to an open campus, says Rector Margareth Hagen.

From 3 January on, UiB students will have access to reading rooms, libraries, laboratories, studios and other common areas.

Unfortunately, the government's current infection control measures show that the pandemic will also affect the study situation at the beginning of next semester.

Teaching and exams

The various departments will also offer on-campus education in small groups where possible and with proper infection control, but the main part of the education will be digital at the beginning of the semester. If there are relieves in the infection control measures, UiB can quickly switch to ordinary on-campus education

In the beginning, the exam will also mainly be conducted as digital home exams as far as it is academically justifiable. On-campus examination will be conducted with two meters’ distance between the students.

You are or will be informed of the plans for your studies in more detail from your department or faculty, and you will find updated plans in Mitt UiB. UiB will also provide updated information about changes in the situation at uib.no/corona.
