Course description

Objectives and Content

For students who specialize in the various parts of the Fisheries Biology and Management and Marine Biology study programmes, the supervisor in consultation with the student(s) will prepare the syllabus (articles and book chapters) to be presented by the student(s) in discussion sessions, seminars and selfstudies. The curriculum will be adapted to the individual's interests and needs and will normally vary from semester to semester. 

Learning Outcomes

Give the students an opportunity to specialize in an area of relevance for their master- or dr. thesis.

Semester of Instruction

Spring and autumn. Irregular, held if teaching resources are available and if min. 8 students enroll.

This course has a limited capacity, enrolment is based on application. The application deadline is Wednesday in week 2/33 for the spring/autumn semester. Please see this page for more information. You will receive confirmation of whether you received a seat in Studentweb no later than Monday the week after the deadline.

It is compulsory to attend the first lecture/orientation meeting, or you risk losing your seat. If you are unable to attend the first lecture, you must contact the Study Section (studie.bio@uib.no). The time of the first lecture/orientation meeting can be found in the schedule on the course website or on Mitt UiB.

Grading Scale
The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade, grade F is a fail.
