Introduction to communication theory
Objectives and Content
The course deals with the following main areas: Rhetoric (classical rhetoric, modern rhetoric and visual rhetoric), semiotics, hermeneutics, target group analysis - identity/segmentation, aesthetics (sociological aesthetics), narratology and gives an introduction to discourse analysis.
The course is intended to provide an overview and understanding of different aspects of design as communication. the aim is for participants to become capable of analysing different forms of communication.
