Course content

Access to the course requires admission to PhD programme at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The course is the equivalent of MAT244 and has following compulsory activity in addition:

To ensure learning outcomes at PhD level, it is required that the PhD student also produces an independent course component on a topic related to the content of MAT244. The form of this course component should be determined by the lecturer and must be either an oral presentation or a 5-10-pages written report. The topic should be chosen in cooperation with the lecturer and must be finally approved by the end of the 4th week of teaching. Prerequisite for taking the exam in MATPHD944 is that the student has passed the completion of the course component.
