Monte Carlo Methods and Bayesian Statistics

Access to the course requires admission to the PhD programme at The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The course is equivalent of STAT250 www.uib.no/en/course/STAT250 and has additional requirements for PhD candidates:

To ensure learning outcomes at PhD level, it is required that the PhD student also produces an independent course component on a topic related to the content of STAT250. The form of this course component should be a 5-10-pages written report. The topic should be chosen in cooperation with the lecturer and must be finally approved by the end of the 4th week of teaching. Prerequisite for taking the exam in STATPHD950 is that the student has passed the completion of the course component.
