Project description

My master project will focus on young and thin manganese crusts which is deposited on mountain formations along the spreading axis. A main goal with the project is to document the chemical composition of these crusts, and in what extent the composition of these crusts differs from the crusts growing alongside the flanks of the spreading ridge. It is a goal to investigate if there are systematic variations in the composition along the spreading axis, and if these can reflect variations in the hydrothermal activity along different segments of the spreading ridge.
