New PhD student

A warm welcome to Anny who will be a PhD student at the KG Jebsen Center for Diabetes Research.

Anny Gravdal passed her master's degree in molecular biology at the University of Bergen in December 2016. After that she started working as an engineer at the Department of Pathology, Haukeland University Hospital. Both as a master student and as an engineer, Annys main focus has been to study the role of the digestive enzyme carboxyl ester lipase (CEL) in pancreatic disease.

Anny started as a PhD fellow on the 1st of August 2017. She will continue working on CEL and the title of her project is "Role of carboxyl ester lipase (CEL) in pancreatic disease: Functional characterization of pathogenic CEL variants and a new model for chronic pancreatitis".

Anny is affiliated with node 2 and will have her main workplace in the Laboratory Building (2nd and 6th floor).
