Lyssenko group

Main content

Group leader: Valeriya Lyssenko

Diabetes is a lifelong disease that is associated with micro- and macrovascular complications affecting different organs such as kidneys, nervous systems, eyes and heart. These complications decrease both life quality and expectancy, and become an economic burden. There are several causes for developing the complications and we are investigating the causes and protective factors by using genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, immunological screenings and epidemiological approaches. The group is supervised by Professor Valeriya Lyssenko, who is leading different clinical studies such as PROLONG and DOLCE.
