New PhD student: Miriam Gjerdevik
We wish Miriam Gjerdevik welcome as a PhD student at KG Jebsen center for Diabetes research.
Miriam Gjerdevik passed her master's degree in mathematical statistics at the University of Bergen in 2012. After that she started working within pulmonology at Haukeland university Hospital and at The Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care (IGS), University of Bergen.
Miriam started as a research fellow November 1st 2015. The title of the PhD project is "Genetic association methods for interactions between genetic, epigenetic and environmental factors in family-based biobank data." She will prepare statistical methods to look at including gene and environment-associations, and thereafter use the models towards diabetes data.
Mirjam is still affiliated with IGS, but will work closely with KG Jebsen Center for Diabetes Research.
Supervisors are Håkon K. Gjessing, Rolv Terje Lie and Paul R. Njølstad.
