Western Norway University of Applied Sciences and the University of Bergen are proudly hosting the 8th Nordic conference on subject education together in May 2021. Conference registration opens 30 January 2021.

The conference theme is intended to encourage an exploration of three aspects related to all curriculum subjects in education: creativity, literacy and critical thinking. These aspects are rooted in major educational, cultural, and political discourses, and they affect all curriculum subjects in the 21st century. How are subject matter content, teaching approaches and learning processes shaped by different contexts?

Who can attend?

The conference will bring together senior and junior academics, PhD students and teacher educators, to present and discuss research on subject education and teaching. We welcome disciplinary and interdisciplinary contributions from participants from within and outside the Nordic countries. The working language of the conference will be English, but in the paper sessions we welcome presentations in any of the Scandinavian languages.
