How to apply for admission to studies
Deadlines and how you apply for admission will vary between our different courses and programmes.
Apply for a master’s degree
At UiB you can choose to apply for various master's degrees of a two-year duration. The application procedure and application deadline will vary depending on which applicant type you are.
Apply for exchange studies
We take part in many hundred bilateral exchange agreements with universities all over the world. UiB requires that your home university nominates you before you can apply for admission.
Apply for Fine Art, Music and Design studies
The Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design have studies at bachelor’s and master’s level. Their master’s studies are taught in English, while their bachelor’s programmes require knowledge of a Scandinavian language. Note that the deadlines at this faculty may vary slightly from deadlines to other studies.
Apply for a PhD
PhD education gives you the possibility of working in academia and doing in-depth research on the field of your interest. You will be payed during the three or four years of your doctoral education.
No undergraduate/bachelor's programmes taught in English
None of our undergraduate study programmes are offered in English. Applicants with education from outside of Norway must document Norwegian language proficiency in the application process.
