Selection and nomination

UiB requires all exchange students to be nominated by their home university. Contact the exchange coordinator at your home university for information on how to be nominated and information about grant and scholarship opportunities. You must apply for exchange to your home university before you apply for admission to UiB.

The Erasmus+ Grant

As an Erasmus+ ICM student, you will receive a grant to cover most of your living expenses in Norway and some expenses for travel. The grant consists of:

  • An Erasmus grant of € 850 per month
  • An Erasmus travel grant (amount depends on which country you are studying in)
  • € 350 in support to cover parts of your expenses in obtaining a study permit
  • A UiB grant, which may vary from one year to another

The grant does not cover other expenses like:

  • Insurance, deposit for housing, etc.

When will you receive the grant

You will receive the first payment of your grant a few days after your arrival in Norway. You should be able to cover living expenses for the first few days yourself.
