October has been a busy month in the Bergen Energy Lab, and there are yet some events to look forward to until the end of the semester. You can read more about the recent half-day seminar on bioenergy, with interesting presentations about the potential for and sustainability of bioenergy. We have also had four lunch-meetings during October. Read summaries from the presentations by Gisela Böhm (Department of Psychosocial Sciences), Jeff Graves (ABO Plan & Arkitektur), Martin Greve (IFT) and Lars Golmen (NIVA). Read also the interview with Energy Master graduate Håkon Eidsvåg!

On behalf of the University of Bergen, Professor in Offshore Wind at GFI, Finn Gunnar Nielsen, has written a plan for the development of a demonstration park for floating offshore wind turbines in Norway. This plan has been sent to the Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment at the Parliament of Norway. It suggests that 15 million NOK should be allocated in the national budget of 2018 to the start-up of an organisation that shall establish and operate such a demonstration park. Read the note here.
