On November 14th, the Bergen Energy Lab lunch meeting was held at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL). Aina Eide, who is an engineer at Sweco Norge AS and the project leader for designing the HVAC system in the building, presented HVL’s environmental friendly energy solution.

The building utilises a cooperation between a geothermal well park, cooling machine/heat pump and district heating. Owing to the smart energy solutions in the building, it has a yearly energy demand of only 123 kWh/m2, which is well below the original goal of 150 kWh/m2 per year.

Following the presentation, the attendants got a guided tour to see the energy central and the most important technical installations in the building.
