Call for papers EUCEN conference 2018
We have invited from all fields of research on university lifelong learning to submit an abstract addressing the conference themes for the 50th EUCEN conference in Bergen 2018. The deadline for submission of abstracts is now closed.
The 50th EUCEN conference celebrates the growth and evolvement of university lifelong learning through the past decades, and looks info future opportunities in times of transition. Increasing internationalization, cultural diversity, mobility and digitalization are global trends with huge impact on individuals, work life and educational institutions.
This conference explores the future role and opportunities of university lifelong learning through the following main categories:
Under this category we wish to explore the implications for university lifelong learning on professional transitions as people enter or return to the workforce, change or progress in their careers, or leave work due to unemployment, retirement, or personal choice. Your contribution could be linked to themes such as:
- Impact of university continuing education on career and educational transitions
- Adult counselling as a useful tool for and in life transitions
- Recognition and validation of prior learning
Under this category we want to explore transitions at the personal level. Your contribution could be linked to themes such as:
- Identity and personal agency
- Community engagement
- Citizenship education
- Local language education
Under this category we want to explore how digitalisation is changing how we engage with knowledge, teaching, and learning, and to examine and critique this new learning environment. We also want to explore the possibilities and challenges of using digital media. Your contribution could be linked to themes such as:
- The role of the educator
- Engaging lifelong learners online
- Learning online in later life
- Creating digital content
The deadline for submission of abstracts was Fri 16 March 2018.
Abstracts that are considered of major interest will be invited to submit a full paper and will receive the guidelines for submission. Completed papers should be submitted by Fri 25 May 2018 and sent to: firstname.lastname@example.org
