The first lecture, titled "Philosophy and neuroscience", will be held 1 September at 16:15 to 18:00. The day after he will give a talk on "The nature of consciousness".
Peter Hacker is Emeritus Research Fellow at St John's College, Oxford. He is regarded as one of the foremost experts on Wittgenstein and has published widely on Wittgenstein, philosophy of language and philosophy of mind. He is perhaps best known for his multi-volume analytical commentary (co-written with Gordon Baker) on Wittgenstein's Philosophical Investigations. In recent years he has been an important critic of cognitive neuro science.
