Sveinung Rudjord Unneland

I am a board candidate from the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design where I just started my third year as a doctoral fellow. An important motivation for my candidacy for the university board is related to the experiences from the extensive merging processes and restructuring in art education in recent years. I am generally concerned with how, as an educational institution, one can create a culture and structure based on trust, and the relative autonomy of the disciplines. I am concerned with the social and non-formal spaces of education and research, not least the question of how we can make these spaces safe, inclusive, generous and vital.

I have board experience nationally and locally both from artistic unions such as Young Artists 'Society and Visual Artists' Association Hordaland, in addition to organizations such as Hordaland Art Center and Bergen Center for Electronic Art and Bergen Assembly. I have taught as a college lecturer for 6 years at the Art Academy in Bergen and have been associated with art education for almost 9 years. In parallel with this, I have been an active part of the visual arts field in Norway and exhibited at several leading institutions. In addition to this, I am a father of two children with a beating hearth for art, research, education and society.
