The two teams have communicated their visions in the election platforms, but what do they really intend to do to achieve our goals? How should UiB work systematically to improve the gender balance, and ensure equal opportunities for women and men in academia?

The MN faculty has only 16% female professors and UiB's lowest overall gender share in scientific positions, and has therefore now initiated the project GenderAct with a long-term goal of improving the balance.

Today's recruitment means that we have to dare to ask the important questions- do women and men really have the same possibility to succeed in academia and, not least, does the imbalance do anything to the quality of our research?

Our challenges have relevance to the other faculties, watch the debate on YouTube . Feel free to use the chat for questions and comments.

Hosting the debate: Dorothy Jane Dankel and Asbjørn Leirvåg.
