Main content

Academic interests

  • Storminess and extreme wind events in Norway
  • Aeolian processes and landforms
  • Palaeoclimatic reconstructions based on fluctuations in glacier equilibrium-line altitudes (ELAs), with special interest in lee-side accumulation of snow.
  • Lake sediments as an archive for environmental change and extreme events (storms, avalanching and floods).

Suggestions for new master projects

1. Strength, direction and frequency of Holocene storms at Stad and Vågsøy based on aeolian sand in peat- and lake sediments.

2. Strength, direction and frequency of Holocene storms at Brusanden and Ogna/Orresanden, South-Western Norway, based on aeolian sand in peat- and lake sediments.

3. Strength, direction and frequency of Holocene storms at Lista, South Norway, based on aeolian sand in peat- and lake sediments.

4. Glacier fluctuations and palaeoclimatic reconstruction at Østre Trolltindbreen, Lofoten, northern Norway, during the Holocene.
